- Pay: $56,498.40/year starting salary (could be higher based on years of 4K teaching experience and education)
- Schedule: Full-time, Part Year
Part Year includes built-in summer break, 2 weeks winter break, and spring break.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education; Elementary Education with 18 ECE credits; or a related degree with 18 ECE credits
- Certification: DPI certification in ECE or a related field, or the ability to become DPI certified; Registry certificate required within 90 days of employment
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in an early care and education setting, including supervised student teaching, experience as a preschool teacher in a licensed program, or employment as a public school preschool teacher; experience working with low-income families
- Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with Head Start Performance Standards, developmentally appropriate practice, and child assessment tools; ability to implement and adapt curriculum based on individual child and family goals
- Professional Competencies: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; cultural sensitivity and responsiveness; commitment to equity, trauma-informed practice, and Reach Dane's mission
- Language: Bilingual in Spanish and/or Hmong preferred; multilingual skills are a valued organizational strength
- Additional Requirements: Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with adequate liability insurance; must be at least 18 years of age; successful completion of Caregiver Background Check and TB test required prior to employment
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a 4K Teacher, you'll prepare children for educational success and support the whole family by:
- Creating a safe, nurturing classroom environment that fosters social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development for children in low-income, at-risk settings
- Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, including Reach Dane's Creative Curriculum, aligned with Head Start Performance Standards, child assessment results, and individual family goals
- Completing developmental, vision, and behavioral screenings within required timelines and participating in IEP processes for children with identified needs
- Building authentic, respectful relationships with children, families, and community partners, including conducting required home visits and parent conferences
- Supervising and mentoring classroom team members and the Family Outreach Worker, including regular feedback, team meetings, and performance evaluations
- Collaborating with mental health consultants, special education providers, and contracting school district staff to deliver integrated, comprehensive services
- Maintaining compliance with child care licensing, NAEYC accreditation criteria, and agency policies, including accurate documentation of attendance, health records, and family services
