Primary responsibility is implementing high quality early childhood programming for children and their families as detailed in the Head Start program performance standards. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining a safe classroom environment and preparing and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Teacher will implement positive guidance strategies to support the social and emotional development of children. Teacher will ensure healthy and safe practices for children. Teacher will also support individual child development by using ongoing assessment through the use of an online assessment tool. Teacher will engage families in the program to support child''s development and parent''s role as child''s first and most important educator. They will also assist in planning and implementing parent meetings, special programs and training events. Teachers will follow all guidelines and procedures outlined in the "Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Centers". Teacher will work with an assistant teacher in a classroom of 16-18 children ages 3-5. This is a mixed age group classroom. Half of the classroom are children part of the 4K program through Fort Atkinson School District and half of the classroom are preschool aged children.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor''s Degree in Elementary Education with a 4K Certification
Successful Completion of a Criminal Background Check
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a Head Start program and Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards
Experience/Knowledge with Everyday Math, Second Step, and Shared Reading
