Job Summary:
The Full-Time 4K Paraprofessional supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for four-year-old kindergarten students. This position assists with classroom instruction, daily routines, student supervision, and the implementation of activities that promote academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and school readiness skills. The 4K Paraprofessional works collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to foster student independence, encourage positive behavior, and support the overall success and well-being of young learners while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment.

Assist the 4K teacher with daily classroom routines, transitions, arrival, dismissal, meals/snacks, toileting needs, and student supervision.
Support individual students and small groups with developmentally appropriate academic, social-emotional, communication, and readiness skills as directed by the classroom teacher.
Reinforce teacher-directed instruction, classroom expectations, and positive behavior strategies.
Help students develop independence, problem-solving skills, peer interaction skills, and school readiness behaviors.
Assist with preparation, organization, and clean-up of instructional materials, classroom activities, learning centers, and projects.
Supervise students in classroom, hallway, playground, lunch, bus, and other school settings as assigned.
Support a safe, inclusive, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment for all students.
Communicate professionally and effectively with students, staff, and families while maintaining appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
Assist with documentation, clerical tasks, and other classroom support duties as directed by the teacher or building administrator.
Follow district policies, school procedures, safety expectations, confidentiality requirements, and staff handbook expectations.
Participate in professional learning, meetings, and training as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal, classroom teacher, or district administration.
Communicate student progress and concerns to the teacher
Understand and follow District safety protocols and procedures
Other duties as assigned by the Principal
Experience working with preschool, 4K, kindergarten, childcare, or early childhood-aged students, preferred
Experience supporting students in a school setting, preferred.
Knowledge of early childhood development, play-based learning, classroom routines, and positive behavior supports, preferred.
CPR/First Aid training or willingness to complete training as requested, preferred.
