The School District of New Berlin is looking for a dedicated individual to join the Elmwood Elementary team as a 4K Student Learning Assistant. This part-time, hourly position follows the school-year calendar, requiring availability Monday through Friday on student school days from 8:00 am - 12:15 pm.

Working alongside licensed educators, the 4K Student Learning Assistant provides essential instructional services and support to students. This role involves reinforcing learning objectives and assisting with student supervision and classroom management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tutoring and Instruction

  • Tutor individual students and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Provide remedial and/or enrichment academic support and implement behavior plans.
  • Assist instructional personnel with the presentation of learning materials.

Classroom and Environment Support

  • Partner with the classroom teacher to manage daily duties, organizational tasks, and administrative needs.
  • Monitor and maintain the classroom to ensure the learning environment is physically accessible and safe for all students.
  • Provide active supervision and support during non-structured times, such as recess and lunch periods.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive, orderly environment that minimizes disruptions and maximizes student engagement.
