JOB SUMMARY
The 4th & 5th Grade Ministry Coordinator is responsible for assisting and supporting the 4th-5th grade Director/Pastor in all aspects of the ministry. Preteen Ministry at CBC serves 4th-5th grade students and provides weekend worship gatherings designed to help students grow in their relationship with Christ, engage with God’s Word, and experience community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Plan and prepare environments that provide opportunities for 4th-5th grade students to experience the love of Jesus Christ through weekend worship gatherings, small groups, and ministry programming.
Supervise and support all aspects of Preteen worship gatherings during weekend services, including teaching large group lessons and leading small groups.
Build relationships with and consistently encourage and pray for parents, students, and volunteers connected to the ministry
Recruit, train, and empower by encouraging volunteers to minister to Preteen students
Responsible for all ministry areas, ensuring cleanliness, order, safety, and security of all rooms, equipment, and supplies
Communicate on behalf of the Preteen Ministry with visitors, parents and other ministry departments
Create and maintain volunteer rosters and schedules and communicate with volunteers as needed
Maintain accurate student and family information in the church database
Ability and willingness to regularly fulfill all ministry roles within the ministry
Oversee the purchase/acquisition of supplies specific to the ministry
Plan, coordinate and, and oversee Preteen events throughout the school year, including Fancy Friendsgiving, Preteen Fiesta, and Preteen Summer Hang, the ministry’s largest annual event
Assist with planning and execution of other Preteen programs and initiatives throughout the school year.
Participate in training programs, courses, and/or other aspects of professional growth as approved or directed by the 4th-5th grade Director/Pastor
Other duties as assigned by the 4th-5th grade Director/Pastor
Support assimilation by tracking and following up with first-time guests and new believers through writing cards and making phone calls.
Assist with occasional Wednesday evening activities, including baptism nights, revival nights, and other special ministry events.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position (40 hrs.) per week. Exempt. Weekend services Saturday and Sunday. Flexible schedule available for weekday office hours Monday-Thursday. Evening responsibilities may include occasional Preteen events and activities throughout the school year. Annual events include, but are not limited to, Preteen Fancy Friendsgiving, Preteen Fiesta, and Preteen Summer Hang, the ministry’s largest annual event.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:
Must have good or corrected vision as well as effective peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use repetitive motion of the hands and arms
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
Must be able to move about the Preteen space and storage rooms to perform a variety of tasks
Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
Must be able to frequently lift fixtures or supplies up to 40 pounds
Must be able to potentially lift children up to 75 pounds as needed
Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years related work experience in volunteer development and oversight
Experience and knowledge pertaining to working with upper Elementary-age children
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties are performed in a variety of settings to include, outside, office and technical settings where the work and general environment may be fast-paced and hectic at times. Therefore, it is essential that the employee can effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the job and manage multiple projects in a service-oriented environment. Environmental noise levels are minimal.
