This is a year-round full-time teaching position with flexibility to have summertime off. The work shift is 8:15a -3:45p, Monday to Friday with a pay rate of $18 – 20 depending on experience. This is an onsite role at our center: 1118 W Oak Ridge Rd, Orlando, FL 32809

The Elementary Teacher plans and implements curriculum, serves as a leader model and mentor, and coordinates engaging developmental activities for children. You’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, develop positive self-esteem and confidence, and support the growth and success of children in 4th grade.

What You’ll Do: 
• Responsible for the supervision of children and management of a well-ordered classroom environment that ensures safety, cleanliness, and wellbeing. 
• Provide an appropriate educational atmosphere that creates a positive learning experience, encourages student participation, and promotes the development of positive self-esteem and confidence. 
• Apply a variety of teaching strategies and classroom behavioral management techniques to match the learning styles of the students.
• Recognize developmental delays or problematic behavior to provide parents with resources and /or referral to services within the community.
• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by preparing weekly lesson plans, developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth. 
• Select in advance the means of assessment to measure students’ learning for a lesson or unit.
• Maintain portfolios on each child to include evaluations, antidotal notes, and progress reports in all academic work and relationships.
• Provide routine updates on children’s progress to school director and parents. 
• Enforce classroom and school rules and code of conduct.
• Supervise meals complying with rules and regulations defined by program, USDA, and the children’s needs. 
• Update bulletin boards with appropriate monthly theme, lesson plan overview, parent / student highlights, classroom newsletter, pertinent information.   
• Lead by example and encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
• Participate in staff meetings, parent conferences, and school functions. 
• Follow all policies and regulations defined by state and local agencies.
• Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Educational Requirements:
• Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA), prefer a Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education 
• 1 – 2 years of direct teaching experience (preferred) 
• CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employment
