HJT1 is a 4K-8th Grade district located in Washington and Dodge Counties; 35 miles northwest of Milwaukee, 55 miles south of Oshkosh, and 60 miles northeast of Madison. The city of Hartford is in the rolling hills of the scenic Kettle Moraine with Pike Lake State Park, Holy Hill Basilica & National Shrine and Erin Hills Golf Course minutes from the city limits. We are a community of over 16,000 with strong education, and many attractions such as the Schauer Arts Center and Recreation Center, and a variety of retail stores and restaurants. Hartford is an active community with many organizations and groups uplifting the home community feel. The HJT1 District is made up of two elementary buildings and one middle school building.

The School District of Hartford Jt. #1 is seeking a skilled, collaborative, and student-centered 4th Grade Teacher to join our team at Lincoln Elementary School. We are looking for educators who are passionate about helping all student grow academically, socially, and emotionally through engaging instruction, positive relationships, and reflective teaching practices. The ideal candidate should have an exceptional work ethic and a great sense of humor. Candidates should be intrinsically motivated and possess a highly positive attitude. The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold or be eligible to obtain Wisconsin DPI Licensure in Elementary or Regular Education (1088 or 1777) for grades 1-6
  • Possess strong content knowledge and understanding of elementary instructional practices
  • Create an engaging, challenging, and age-appropriate classroom environment aligned with state standards that encourages all students to achieve high levels of learning
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families
  • Build positive relationships and foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment where all students feel a sense of belonging
  • Differentiate instruction and learning activities to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Understand and implement instructional best practices
  • Participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities related to a variety of topics impacting the key work of educators
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and best practices that supports students' academic success and overall well-being
  • Thrive in collaborative environments
  • Possess a clear vision, energy, and passion for teaching and learning
  • Guide and supervise students while maintaining a positive attitude toward learning and maintaining a safe learning environment
