Merrill Area Public School District (MAPS) is seeking a dynamic, passionate and student centered teacher to join our team. As a teacher, you will play a pivotal role in educating and inspiring students to achieve academic success and develop a love for learning. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interests, and abilities of students.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals and state standards.
- Assesses the academic work and social progress of students on a regular basis, providing progress reports and report card grades as required, and communicating with parents when necessary.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by district policy and law.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Develops a code of conduct for the classroom, which is consistent with established policies and develops rules of classroom behavior, which are enforced in a fair and just manner.
- Plans assignments for and works collaboratively with teacher aides, parent volunteers, and student teachers (when applicable).
- Plans meaningful classroom activities for a substitute in case of absence.
- Maintains an ongoing program of professional growth that aligns with personal expectations, district goals, and state licensure requirements.
- Assists the district in development of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices, which promote student learning.
- Assist in developing and collaborate in implementing student behavior plans, academic goals, and IEP's.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the classroom and school building for extended periods.
- Capacity to bend, crouch, or kneel to interact with students at their level.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to handle teaching materials, operate technology, and use office equipment.
- Visual and auditory ability to read materials, monitor classroom activities, and respond to questions or safety signals.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, such as books, supplies, or small equipment.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s Degree
- License in Elementary Education
- Emphasis or license in English/ELA preferred
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, classroom management, and curriculum design.
