Duties

Responsible for instructing students in a classroom serving 6-8 students in grade 4 at Steward Elementary School.

Requirements: Create standards-based lesson plans, administer praise and constructive criticism, instruct students on subjects including social studies, science, ELA, and math, while maximizing cross-curricular opportunities for a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use various methods such as oral presentation, workshops, discussion, etc. to provide instructions to individual students and class.
• Prepare standards-based lessons utilizing materials, homework/assignments, formative and summative assessments, etc. to meet district/state prioritized curriculur goals.
• Create interactive classroom environment for students.
• Develop classroom standards to maintain student discipline and behavior.
• Evaluate student performance regularly and prepare progress reports.
• Communicate regularly with parents on student performance.
• Provide technical guidance and materials to substitute teachers.
• Perform school supervisory duties as and when needed.
• Work with other faculty to identify and address student health, behavioral, and learning issues.
• Identify and order appropriate books and instructional materials.
• Conduct classes as per the designated schedule.
• Establish learning objectives and goals clearly.
• Develop and implement effective learning programs.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree and certification in education are required.
