503B pharmaceutical Strategic Supply Chain Projects Manager Job Summary
We are hiring a Strategic Supply Chain Projects Manager to lead cross-functional projects supporting a 503B pharmaceutical operation.

This role focuses on improving supply chain reliability, material availability, inventory performance, supplier performance, MRP/ERP processes, and manufacturing readiness. You will work closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and IT to identify problems, develop solutions, and deliver measurable improvements.

Pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or other cGMP-regulated industry experience is required. Direct 503B sterile compounding or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.

 

Job Responsibilities

503B pharmaceutical Strategic Supply Chain Projects Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Lead supply chain projects from planning through implementation and closeout.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, risks, KPIs, and stakeholder communication.
  • Develop business cases, ROI analyses, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting material availability and production continuity.
    Partner with Procurement to improve supplier performance, lead times, MOQs, sourcing, and costs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier reliability and reduce supply disruption risk.
  • Analyze inventory levels, safety stock, replenishment strategies, BOMs, and MRP planning parameters.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for material shortages and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Partner with IT/ERP teams to improve MRP/ERP functionality, master data, and supply chain visibility.
  • Analyze production demand, capacity constraints, material readiness, and changeover requirements.
  • Partner with Production to ensure materials are available for upcoming manufacturing campaigns.
  • Support new product introductions, tech transfers, scale-up initiatives, and manufacturing expansion projects.
  • Ensure projects align with FDA 503B requirements, cGMP standards, and QMS requirements.
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections by providing supply chain documentation, data, and process information.
  • Create dashboards and executive reports showing project status, KPIs, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate across Supply Chain, Procurement, QA/QC, Production, Engineering, Finance, IT, and Regulatory teams.

Qualifications

503B pharmaceutical Strategic Supply Chain Projects Manager Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, operations, project management, or a related area.
  • Required: Experience working in a pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or other cGMP-regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel or comparable data-analysis skills.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and drive initiatives through completion.
