Key Responsibilities:

Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments according to case requirements.
Maintain strict aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies during procedures.
Transport and position patients properly for surgery, respecting patient comfort and privacy.
Handle biological specimens with care and precision.
Monitor and control the surgical environment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Support various specialty areas, including Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Robotics, and more.
Work effectively within a team, demonstrating clinical expertise and flexibility, including floating to other departments as needed.
Comply with all hospital policies and safety standards, including Universal Barrier Precautions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN license.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Proficiency in scrubbing in multiple specialty areas preferred.
Ability to work 4 days a week, 10 hours per day, with scheduled 1-2 weekend call shifts and 1-2 on-call nights per week.
Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to transport patients and handle surgical specimens with care.

Nice to Have Skills:

Experience in complex surgical procedures such as transplants, open heart, neurology, or robotics.
Experience with sterilization, decontamination, and OR setup.
Flexibility to float to different departments and adapt to varying procedural needs.

Preferred Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or LVN/LPN program.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred; new graduates may apply if certified within 180 days.

Other Requirements:

Valid BLS certification required.
Active certification as a Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN license.
Willingness to work days on a 4x10 schedule, including occasional weekend and evening on-call shifts.
Travel to different departments as needed to support surgical services.
