What You’ll Do
  • Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients in the OR.
  • Prepare patient skin and maintain aseptic techniques throughout surgery.
  • Transport patients and position them for surgery according to protocols.
  • Identify and care for biological specimens.
  • Set up operating room tables, instruments, and supplies per case.
  • Proficiently scrub in multiple specialty areas (preferred: Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Robotics, etc.).
  • Pass instruments and sutures to physicians, establishing and maintaining sterile fields.
  • Cooperate effectively with surgical team members to ensure patient safety.
  • Follow policies for decontamination, sterilization, and OR sanitation.
  • Monitor and control the surgical environment for safety and efficiency.
  • Help adapt patient care to meet individual needs, considering psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific factors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or LVN/LPN program required.
  • BLS certification from AHA required.
  • 2+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to scrub in multiple specialty areas highly preferred.
  • Good organizational and teamwork skills.
