What Youll Do
- Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients in the OR.
- Prepare patient skin and maintain aseptic techniques throughout surgery.
- Transport patients and position them for surgery according to protocols.
- Identify and care for biological specimens.
- Set up operating room tables, instruments, and supplies per case.
- Proficiently scrub in multiple specialty areas (preferred: Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Robotics, etc.).
- Pass instruments and sutures to physicians, establishing and maintaining sterile fields.
- Cooperate effectively with surgical team members to ensure patient safety.
- Follow policies for decontamination, sterilization, and OR sanitation.
- Monitor and control the surgical environment for safety and efficiency.
- Help adapt patient care to meet individual needs, considering psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific factors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Need
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or LVN/LPN program required.
- BLS certification from AHA required.
- 2+ years of related experience preferred.
- Ability to scrub in multiple specialty areas highly preferred.
- Good organizational and teamwork skills.
