What You’ll Do
  • Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed according to established standards
  • Prepare treatment equipment, immobilization, and protection devices
  • Verify patient identity, treatment prescription, and consent forms before initiating therapy
  • Explain procedures to patients and communicate during treatment
  • Maintain strict radiation safety protocols for team and patients
  • Assist in tumor localization and dosimetry procedures
  • Fabricate treatment devices, including lead shielding when required
  • Document treatment details accurately and maintain treatment charts
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and equipment checks
  • Support patient mobility needs and provide compassionate care
  • Collaborate with physicians and support staff to ensure precise treatment delivery
  • Rotate on-call and weekend duties as scheduled

What You Need
Required:
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card
  • Valid New Mexico radiologic technologist license (upon hire)
  • 2+ years clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work independently

Preferred:
  • Experience with IMRT, LDR/HDR treatments
  • Knowledge of tumor localization, dosimetry, and treatment simulation
  • Strong communication and patient care skills
