Long Term Substitute Summary

The classroom teacher is responsible for preparing all students for post-secondary success by implementing the district curriculum using culturally responsive instructional strategies, monitoring student progress, analyzing student data and collaboratively planning for providing student interventions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Follow the lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher on a daily basis.

• Responsible for classroom management and the implementation of charter school approved curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.

• Present academic content through a variety of instructional strategies.

• Utilize formative and summative assessment tools to measure student achievement and progress toward learning objectives.

• Use assessment data to improve instructional effectiveness.

• Create a classroom environment of respect, high expectations, and the belief that every child can learn.

• Ensure prompt and appropriate communication with families.

Teacher Competencies and Qualifications

The successful candidate will also have:

• Valid Substitute WI DPI License

• Ability to maintain positive relationships with young children, school staff, and parents

• Cassroom management abilities

• A strong belief that all students can learn and succeed in the classroom

• A do-whatever-it takes attitude

• An exceptional ability to respond well to feedback and implement it immediately

General Information

This position is from August 17th-Sept. 30th school year and the successful candidate as soon as possible.
