Long Term Substitute Summary
The classroom teacher is responsible for preparing all students for post-secondary success by implementing the district curriculum using culturally responsive instructional strategies, monitoring student progress, analyzing student data and collaboratively planning for providing student interventions.
Key responsibilities include:
Follow the lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher on a daily basis.
Responsible for classroom management and the implementation of charter school approved curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
Present academic content through a variety of instructional strategies.
Utilize formative and summative assessment tools to measure student achievement and progress toward learning objectives.
Use assessment data to improve instructional effectiveness.
Create a classroom environment of respect, high expectations, and the belief that every child can learn.
Ensure prompt and appropriate communication with families.
Teacher Competencies and Qualifications
The successful candidate will also have:
Valid Substitute WI DPI License
Ability to maintain positive relationships with young children, school staff, and parents
Cassroom management abilities
A strong belief that all students can learn and succeed in the classroom
A do-whatever-it takes attitude
An exceptional ability to respond well to feedback and implement it immediately
