Supervised By: Principal
Contract: 10months
Classification: Certified
Directly Supervises: None

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Arizona State Teaching Certification appropriate for the grade level and subject area.
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • First Aid/CPR Certified.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and extensive background check.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of Arizona academic standards, curriculum, instructional strategies, assessment practices, and classroom management techniques.
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate instructional practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans that address diverse learning needs.
  • Ability to use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and school administration.
  • Ability to maintain accurate student records and complete required reports and documentation.
  • Ability to use instructional technology and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive school environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment, problem-solving skills, flexibility, and professionalism.

Job Summary: The Elementary Teacher is responsible for providing effective, engaging, and developmentally appropriate instruction to elementary students. The teacher plans and delivers standards-based lessons, monitors student progress, maintains a positive learning environment, and supports the academic, social, and emotional development of all students.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Arizona academic standards.
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain timely, standards-aligned lesson plans.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students.
  • Establish and maintain effective classroom management procedures and a positive learning environment.
  • Use diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to monitor student achievement and guide instruction.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, grades, progress, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, interventionists, specialists, and administration to support student achievement.
  • Participate in professional development activities and implement effective instructional practices.
  • Support school-wide programs, activities, events, and initiatives.
  • Follow all school policies, procedures, state requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and school information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or administration.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
Newly appointed employees will be subject to an initial ninety (90) calendar day probation period.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
