Job Summary:
The RegistrationRepresentative is responsible for accurately and completely registering Northern Light Acadia Hospital and Northern Light Acadia Healthcare patients in the Registration System and ensuring that inpatient and outpatient admission paperwork is properly explained to patients and their signature or other legal signature is obtained. Also responsible for preparing charge documents for providers and programs as directed and for tracking the collection of such charge documents after services are rendered. Enters billing charges associated with services provided at Northern Light Acadia Hospital or Northern Light Acadia Healthcare. For all inpatient admissions with Medicare or MaineCare, the RegistrationRepresentative will verify those benefits and document such verifications according to policy. Responsible for compiling and reporting certain statistics in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent required.
A high degree of skill with Microsoft Windows and typing skills of at least 40 wpm is required. Previous office experience in a medical setting and with computerized registration of patients is preferred.
Must have a professional, pleasant and friendly manner with patients, hospital staff, insurance/managed care companies, and community.
Cognitive requirements include the ability to set priorities to assist in the organized function of the department.
