Job Title: Finishing Material Handler
Basic Function: Supply Finishing Lines with material and transport finished product to shipping.
Minimum Requirements
Ability to work a 12-hour shift beginning either 7AM or 7PM.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to be a team player.
Ability to work in a fast pace.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Ability to pay attention to detail.
Principal Duties (additional duties may be assigned)
Feeding the Buffer
Retrieve Hot List Schedule and rework request. Get direction from team lead to decide which SKUs to run and what order.
Retrieve a pallet of the SKU to be finished from the WIP or overflow area.
Transfer the pallet to the appropriate line and repeat until the roller conveyor is full for each line.
Maintain a supply of material for each line.
Transferring Finished Goods to Shipping
Ensure all completed pallets have a master label. Verify the master label has been verified by the operator.
Check each pallet to ensure its stacked so rolls want fall during transport. Check that rolls are properly wrapped so the tread base is completely covered.
Transfer pallet to shipping area.
MRT Material
At the beginning of each MRT run, check the MRT partial pallet area for partial pallets of the same SKU. Run all partial pallets first.
When MRT run is complete and the SKU is out of the press and no more treads for the SKU will be run, check the final pallet. If it is a full pallet transfer to shipping. If it's a partial pallet transfer it to the MRT partial pallet area.
Packaging
Keep one pallet of each type of packaging material staged next to the finishing lines.
Keep the pallet dispensers supplied.
At SKU changeovers ensure the correct pallets are staged in the pallet dispenser. Refer to the specifications database for pallet type requirements.
Overflow Material
If the platen row in the WIP area is full, stage the material in the designated overflow area.
Ensure that all material in the overflow area is staged in the correct overflow row.
Splicing
Move pallets of "To BE Spliced" material to the inspection table.
As pallets of spliced rolls are filled, move the completed pallets to the splice overflow area.
Take spliced rolls to the pressing dept. to be placed on WIP pallets as requested by the splice operator.
Serra Sipe
Look at Serra Sipe list to see the SKUs to be serra-siped.
Stage pallets to be serra-siped at the Serra Sipe machine.
Stage an empty pallet at the machine.
Stage pallets that have been siped at the buffer.
Non-Conforming Material
Finishing Tread Scrap and Splice Scrap
