Client: Entertainment Provider
Title: Revenue Accountant
Duration: 09 Months (Potential Extension/Conversion)
Location: San Francisco, CA 94107 - Onsite only on Wednesday (or as needed as per the team's needs), however, full-time onsite return to office will be implemented in Sep 2026, so the worker will be responsible for 5 day of onsite beginning in September.
Pay Range: ($40-$43) hourly
Note: Relocation is allowed.
cRole Overview:
- Own revenue accounting for digital and DTC business units, including revenue recognition, month-end close, and account reconciliations.
- This role requires hands-on execution in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the month-end close for revenue, including journal entries and revenue analysis
- Manage deferred revenue rollforwards and unbilled receivables
- Calculate subscription revenue waterfall and post-amortization entries
- Perform revenue, cash, and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare disclosures and reporting schedules
- Partner with OTC and Tax teams on cash entries and sales tax compliance
- Support SOX controls, audits, and audit requests
- Advise Sales and Operations on revenue recognition (ASC 606) impacts
Projects & Improvements:
- Support ERP/system implementations (UAT, data validation)
- Drive process improvements and workflow automation
- Perform ad hoc revenue analysis and accounting projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of revenue/accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with revenue recognition, journal entries, and close
- Experience with Ora_cle or similar ERP systems
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups)
- Experience with SOX and audits
Nice to Have:
- Media/streaming/subscription business experience
- Tools: Recurly, Salesforce, Operative One
- Payment systems/gateways experience
- Foreign currency accounting
