YOUR ROLE Led by our Chief Investment Officer, the Investment Department manages a consolidated investment portfolio of approximately $75 billion and consists of investment professionals focused on portfolio management, risk management, asset management, derivatives, operations, finance and accounting functions.Investment Accounting is a shared service organization that prepares all US GAAP, U.S. Statutory, and IFRS accounting and reporting for Genworth’s global investment portfolio. We partner with the Finance Teams across all product lines as well as participate in assisting in the development and execution of Investment strategies. As a Senior Manager on the Operations team, you will be responsible for managing the daily/monthly accounting of the approximately $65 billion portfolio (with anticipated growth over the next few years) contained within the ePAM accounting engine.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the Fixed Income & Operations Senior Manager in the execution, accurate and timely delivery of all daily and monthly accounting for Fixed Income, Limited Partnerships, and the Bank Loan portfolioOversee/supervise the daily and monthly activities for a team of associates, including trade processing, cash processing and reconciliationsLead team huddles and manage and assign specific priorities; serve as interim point for escalationsDevelop controls structure including maintenance of SOx process maps, control documentation and mitigation of deficiency risks through ongoing review and validation of operational processesPerform active and on-going identification of process enhancements and automation to drive continuous process improvements; provide these as suggestions for process and workflow improvementsSupport Senior Management in the execution of strategic goals and initiativesDrive automation to reduce manual touchpoints and eliminate non-value-added activities to deliver sound business resultsApply working knowledge of all relevant accounting rules (e.g., US GAAP, US Statutory, and global subsidiary requirements) to ensure maximum benefit to the organizationProvide education of staff accounting for Fixed Income assets to include maintaining current working knowledge of regulatory changes – assisting Investments Controllership with accounting and reporting changesYOUR QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relative discipline5-7+ years of experience leading and managing accounting functions within the financial services industryStrong knowledge of accounting and reporting requirements related to InvestmentsExcellent oral and written communication with demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all levels of staff and managementCollaboration skills with ability to build relationships to support key business initiativesAbility to identify and implement best practices, benchmark performance within and outside the organization and drive changeAbility to work independentlySkills including MS Office tools, Oracle Financials, TM1, and Business ObjectADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSCPA, related advanced degree, or other certificationsPeople management experienceInvestments accounting and/or accounting systems experienceSkills with additional tools to include PAM, Eagle, or AladdinWHY GENWORTH?We have a real impact on the lives of the people we serveWe work on challenging and rewarding projectsWe give back to the communities where we liveWe offer competitive benefits including:Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Account options beginning your first day 20 days of Choice Time Off your first full year11 Paid Holidays40 hours of volunteer time off401K Account with matching contributionsTuition Reimbursement and Student Loan RepaymentPaid Family LeaveChild Care Subsidy ProgramCOMPANYGenworth Financial, Inc. is a leading insurance holding company committed to helping families achieve the dream of home ownership and address the financial challenges of aging through its leadership positions in mortgage insurance and long term care insurance.
