Position Details

POSITION: 6TH - 12TH GRADE INSTRUCTIONAL COACH (At Risk)

DESCRIPTION: Instructional coach providing Professional Learning, individual and team coaching to strengthen instruction and student learning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate to teach English 6-12
• Master's in Curriculum and Instruction or a Master's in Reading
• Successful teaching at the middle or high school level
• Knowledge of research and evidence-based instructional practices that actively engage secondary students
• Familiarity with the MTSS framework and implementing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 instruction
• Ability to facilitate professional development and team meetings

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

• Ability to assume a leadership role
• Willingness to participate in the 6-12 Essential Practices for Disciplinary Literacy in the Secondary Classroom training
• Willingness to participate in Lexia Aspire training
• Experience with NWEA, PSAT, and SAT
• Ability to administer, analyze, and interpret universal and diagnostic student screenings
• Willingness to support the development and implementation of Individualized Reading Plans (IRIPS)
• Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships
