Position Summary

Brown City Elementary School is seeking a dedicated, student-centered educator to join our K-6 instructional team as a 6th Grade Classroom Teacher. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence, relationship building, and supporting the social-emotional growth of students within a positive school culture aligned to our Capturing Kids' Hearts (CKH) expectations.

The ideal candidate will create engaging learning experiences, maintain high expectations for all learners, and collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate
  • Elementary Education certification appropriate for assignment
  • Ability to teach all core elementary content areas
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to building positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to support and contribute to a positive school culture aligned with Capturing Kids' Hearts (CKH)

Preferred:

  • Experience teaching at the elementary level

  • Certification or strong background in one or more core content areas:

  • English Language Arts

  • Mathematics

  • Science

  • Social Studies

  • Experience using data to guide instruction and interventions

  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction and collaborative teaching practices

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality instruction aligned to Michigan academic standards
  • Foster a safe, engaging, and respectful classroom environment
  • Build meaningful relationships with students and families
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and school improvement efforts
  • Utilize assessment data to inform instructional decisions
  • Support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students
  • Participate in district and building professional learning opportunities
