JOB TITLES: Sixth Grade Social Studies Teacher - Platteville Middle School
CLASSIFICATION: Professional Staff/Long Term Substitute
JOB OBJECTIVE: The Platteville School District is looking for candidates to fulfill long term substitute teaching positions in 6th Grade Social Studies.
Timeline: On or around September 14th, 2026 through December 11th, 2026
Requirements: A bachelor''s degree and substitute teaching license are necessary.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
Wisconsin Teaching License or substitute license.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
Experience with middle school students is a benefit, but not required.
Ability and desire to support student growth.
Display a positive, professional and proactive attitude in working with colleagues and supervisors
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Delivery of instruction in the subject areas of social studies with some small group support in math and/or reading.
Manage instructional environment
Collaborate with 6th grade general education and special education teachers on a daily basis
Collaborate with Middle School Social Studies team weekly
Create daily lesson plans that are engaging and aligned with district essential learning outcomes.
Grading and documentation of student progress.
Administration of assessments and Data analysis of student growth.
Differentiation within the classroom to meet the academic, social/emotional and behavioral needs of students
Understanding of social emotional development of students and how to support that within the classroom setting.
Collaboration with school colleagues, families, and community members to support the learning of all students.
Participating within collaborative teams as part of our greater Professional Learning Community (PLC) efforts
Other duties as assigned.
