Performance Responsibilities:
Conduct himself/herself in accordance with the code of ethics of the teaching profession. Organize the program to accomplish the goals and objectives of his/her specific teaching field. Evaluate himself/herself in the light of his/her attainment of educational goals in conjunction with his/her supervisor. Plan and support to the best of his/her abilities the administration, staff and Board of Education in developing policy of the Leetonia Exempted Village Schools. Plan and work with the administration in the development of an effective curriculum designed to meet the needs of the student, school system and community. Plan and work with the principal in ordering materials to be used in respective grade level program. Keep well informed as to the materials available in his/her building and in the system which are at his/her disposal. Work cooperatively with the principal and other teachers to insure the continuity of the entire school program. Keep well informed on new materials, books, programs, and methods which may enhance the individual classroom. Work cooperatively with special education teachers, counselors, and other personnel. Strive to improve parent-teacher relations. Support school approved organizations with their programs. Provide for each child a learning atmosphere which is commensurate with his/her ability. Use each course of study as a basis of organizing learning materials and activities. Be responsible for maintaining discipline throughout the building, on school grounds and at school activities. Evaluate the student and work toward a system of student self-evaluation. Give careful consideration to all grades recorded and be fair and consistent to all concerned. Familiarize himself/herself with the operation of all machines relating to audio visual material which will aid instruction. Develop student awareness of the importance of safety precautions. Support to the best of his/her abilities the policies and principles set forth by the principal and faculty with whom he/she serves.
