Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to serve students in grades 7-12. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, support diverse learning needs, and collaborate with staff and families to ensure student success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Provide direct instruction using differentiated strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Adapt curriculum, assignments, and assessments as needed
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with general education teachers in inclusive and co-teaching settings
  • Implement effective classroom and behavior management strategies
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and participate in IEP meetings
  • Work closely with support staff and related service providers
  • Ensure compliance with all special education laws and district policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid teaching license/certification in Special Education (7-12 or applicable range)
  • Knowledge of IDEA and special education compliance requirements
  • Experience working with middle and/or high school students preferred
