Join a dedicated critical care team in a 21-bed general Intensive Care Unit located in Carbondale, Illinois. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-acuity bedside care to a diverse patient population requiring intensive monitoring and intervention.
The unit manages a wide range of critical conditions, including cardiac, neurological, neurosurgical, post-cardiovascular surgery, post-general surgery, medical ICU cases, and post-trauma patients. Nurses maintain a typical patient ratio of 2:1, ensuring focused and comprehensive care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct, comprehensive bedside nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU environment.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, interpret diagnostic data, and implement individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments, including titrating vasoactive drips and managing ventilators.
Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and multi-system organ failure.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
Ability to work in Carbondale, Illinois.

Licensing Requirements
