7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach

Middle school athletics serve as a critical foundation for student-athlete development, sportsmanship, and team unity. The 7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach will teach fundamental basketball skills, court spacing, team defense, and basic offensive systems while emphasizing character, academic effort, and positive athletic habits. The coach will collaborate with the high school head coach and Athletics Director to align youth instruction with the broader program''s values and vision, fostering a culture of belonging, teamwork, and community.

Duties:

• Plan, organize, and facilitate daily practices focusing on age-appropriate fundamental skills, rules of the game, and team concepts.

• Collaborate with the High School Boys Basketball Head Coach and Athletics Director to align terminology, basic systems, and program goals.

• Manage team equipment, uniforms, and facility use during practices and game days.

• Promote equitable playing opportunities, growth mindsets, and positive sportsmanship among all 7th-grade student-athletes.

• Serve as a mentor and positive role model, holding student-athletes accountable to district academic and behavioral expectations.

• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, student-athletes, and athletic department leadership.

Wisconsin Heights is situated just 20 minutes west of Madison, in the picturesque Driftless Area. Our district spans approximately 100 square miles, covering the Black Earth and Mazomanie region. This area is rich in recreational opportunities and steeped in history.
