Job Summary
The Educator is responsible for preparing all students for post-secondary success by implementing district curriculum using evidence-based instructional strategies. This position requires regular monitoring of student progress, data analysis, and collaboration with colleagues and families to support student growth and achievement.
Primary Responsibilities
Design, plan, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with district curriculum, state standards, and best practices.
Use culturally responsive, evidence-based instructional strategies.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, English learners, and gifted learners.
Integrate technology and instructional tools to enhance learning.
Develop and administer formative and summative assessments.
Analyze assessment and other student data to inform instructional decisions.
Monitor student progress and growth; adjust instruction based on data.
Report student progress to students, families, and school leadership.
Establish and maintain a positive, productive, and safe classroom environment.
Develop and enforce classroom expectations and routines.
Support student social-emotional learning and behavioral development.
Communicate clearly and regularly with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues regarding academic progress, behavior, and interventions.
Work collaboratively with grade-level or departmental teams, intervention staff, specialists, and administrators to plan instruction and interventions.
Engage in parent-teacher conferences, meetings, and school events.
Participate in developing and implementing targeted intervention plans for students who require additional support.
Coordinate with special educators, reading/math interventionists, counselors, and other support staff as necessary.
Participate in professional development, coaching, peer observation, and reflective practice.
Contribute to school improvement initiatives, teacher committees, curriculum development, and staff development planning.
Stay current with educational research, state standards, and pedagogical trends.
Maintain accurate student records, attendance, grades, progress reports, and other documentation as required by district and state policies.
Uphold legal, ethical, and policy compliance (e.g. FERPA, state education statutes, district policies).
Participate in the district's teacher evaluation process or performance framework.
Supervise students before, during, and after school as assigned.
Assist with school events, extracurricular activities, or duties as assigned by administration.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Valid state teaching license/certification for the appropriate grade level(s) and subject area(s).
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in education or relevant field.
Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogy, classroom management, and assessment.
Commitment to equity, inclusive practices, and culturally responsive teaching.
