Pediatric Home Care Nurse Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess children's health problems and chart out a care plan.
- Provide one-on-one patient care.
- Administer medication and take and record vitals.
- Assess home situations to determine that children are in the best possible environment.
- Assist children with daily care such as grooming, bathing, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support to children and their families.
- Work with pediatricians to ensure that proper treatment is administered at all times.
- Ensure that the treatment provided is producing the expected results and alter procedures when the requirement occurs.
- Observe symptoms and report to the pediatrician.
- Start and monitor intravenous fluids.
- Observer children for changes in health.
- Act as a home health educator for children and their families.
- Work as a nurse advocate to safeguard the children's rights.
- Record medical findings, symptoms, and observations.
- Ensure the safety of children at all times.
- Act as a consultant for children's welfare.
