We are seeking a Facilities Plant Engineer (Civil/Structural) to support manufacturing operations and facility infrastructure projects. This role will provide engineering support for new construction, building modifications, equipment installations, and facility maintenance projects.
The engineer will collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and regulatory agencies to develop designs, review construction documents, and ensure compliance with engineering standards, building codes, and project requirements.
This is a non-managerial, individual contributor role.
Develop conceptual and final civil/structural designs for facilities, equipment installations, and utility systems.
Prepare cost estimates and provide maintenance engineering support for facility infrastructure.
Review engineering designs to ensure compliance with building codes, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
Produce or procure detailed design documents including drawings, specifications, and permit packages.
Support construction projects including vendor selection, contractor proposal review, and project monitoring.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies throughout project execution.
Monitor project progress and contractor performance.
Ensure projects are completed within approved scope, budget, and schedule.
Perform root cause analysis and reliability evaluations for facility systems and assets.
Conduct lifecycle analysis and condition-based maintenance reviews to improve asset performance.
Support initiatives that improve asset availability, maintainability, and operational reliability.
Review contractor redlines and maintain accurate drawing archives and engineering documentation.
Interpret and apply building codes, regulations, and engineering standards.
Support permit acquisition and regulatory compliance activities.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
Minimum 3+ years of engineering experience
Experience supporting construction projects, facility infrastructure, or manufacturing environments
Knowledge of construction principles, building codes, and engineering practices
Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial facilities
Experience with machine foundations or equipment installation
Familiarity with multi-discipline engineering coordination
Must be able to work onsite in North Charleston, SC
Successful completion of required training (OJT or classroom) may be required
Regular and reliable attendance required
Position requires U.S. person status for export compliance
