A-Emt Or Ed Tech – Emergency Department

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development and the care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
Promotes customer service initiatives.
Responds to call lights, requests from patient/family.
Stocks supplies and linens and maintains clean working environment.
Cleans patient stretchers and straightens patient’s rooms.
Assists licensed staff with patient care.
Answers telephones and public inquiries appropriately.
Processes written orders appropriately.
Conveys STAT orders to appropriate personnel immediately.
Enters patient charges for items not charged in PYXIS
Performs EKGs and phlebotomy
Transports patients
Assists with suturing and procedures.
Maintain par level on supplies.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, visitors, and other members of the heathcare team
IV insertion
Assist with pelvic exams
All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Current A-EMT licensure (A-EMT) or Current Paramedic licensure (Paramedic)
Current BLS certification (or obtain prior to the completion of orientation)
CPI De-escalation training certification (obtain within 6 months)
Basic computer skills
