A La Carte Line Cook

The A La Carte Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items during lunch and dinner service in a fast-paced, member-focused environment. This position plays a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality food while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the kitchen.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute all assigned a la carte menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
  • Set up and stock assigned station prior to service.
  • Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
  • Communicate clearly with chefs and fellow line cooks during service.
  • Assist with prep work, inventory rotation, and storage as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation.
  • Properly label, date, and store all food products.
  • Support special events and banquets when required.

Qualifications

  • Previous line cook or a la carte cooking experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a private club, hotel, or high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
