FULL DESCRIPTION: 
 
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Review accounts payable entries
  • Monitor cash flow and advise Accounting Manager and Property Manager as needed.
  • Ensure payments are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with stop payment orders as needed.
  • Develop and/or update guidelines, as needed, for proper handling and coding of vendor invoices to maintain general ledger accounting records.
  • Analyze expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
  • Verify payments before CFO/Controller's signature is added by reviewing checks and vouchers.
  • Ensure proper recordkeeping for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
  • Verify vendor tax identification numbers obtained and W9s filed for year-end 1099 reporting.
  • Crosstrain and backup other accounting staff as needed.
  • Report to and assist Accounting Manager with any other related tasks as needed.
 
The selected candidate will also possess:
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of accounts payable.
  • Adapt to, and even suggest, new/revised policies and procedures.
  • Work independently and with a team.
  • Perform duties in a professional manner while working closely with other departments.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Multi-task and prioritize workload as deadlines and priorities frequently change.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced/demanding environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Strong integrity and ethics with mutual respect for co-workers.
  • Occasionally work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Knowledge of Yardi-Voyager accounting software a plus.
 
 
Salary Range: $18.00 - $22.00/hour
