Our client is seeking an A&P Mechanic, youll perform installation, testing, and repairs of mechanical and electrical aircraft systems, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of critical components such as airframe and engines. Youll work from engineering and fabrication drawings, independently with minimal supervision, using both standard tools and sheet-metal modification techniques to support military and FAA fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft.
Required Skills: A & P Mechanic- Our client requires that candidates must have ability to obtain a DoD Secret Personnel Clearance (PCL), for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
- Skilled in installation, testing, and repair of mechanical and electrical aircraft systems
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical and structural components
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical fabrication and installation drawings
- Competent with hand tools and air tools
- Ability to use aircraft manuals to support maintenance and repairs
- 4 years of related experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to perform installation and troubleshooting of mechanical systems on military and FAA fixed and rotary-wing aircraft
- Experience assisting in or developing engineering drawings
- Works independently with minimal supervision
Nice to Have Skills: A & P Mechanic- Heavy aircraft maintenance experience
- Experience with DC-9 / MD80 aircraft
- Experience using rivet tools and working with sheet metal
- Familiarity with additional machine tools such as:
- shears, breaks, notchers, saws
- milling machines, lathes
- Comfort using measuring tools and test instruments
Preferred Education and Experience: A & P Mechanic- Associates degree
- Heavy aircraft maintenance experience (especially DC-9 / MD80)
