A&P Shop Supervisor

HQ Aero is currently recruiting for an A&P Shop Supervisorin Bridgeport, WV.
Responsibilities:
As an Aviation Shop Supervsor you will be required to:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Aviation Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance, repair, overhaul, and operational activities within an aviation maintenance or component repair shop. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, OEM requirements, and customer expectations. The supervisor provides leadership to technicians and support personnel while driving operational excellence, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of aviation maintenance technicians, mechanics, inspectors, and support staff.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair work is performed in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM manuals, company procedures, and safety standards.
• Monitor workflow, Client allocation, and production schedules to meet operational and customer delivery
requirements.
• Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate priorities, safety concerns, and operational updates.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical or operational issues within the shop environment.
• Ensure proper documentation, work orders, inspection records, and maintenance logs are completed accurately and timely.
• Maintain compliance with quality assurance standards and support internal and external audits.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, including adherence to OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies.
• Train, mentor, and develop shop personnel to improve technical skills, productivity, and teamwork.
• Monitor inventory usage, tooling, equipment condition, and material requirements.
• Coordinate with planning, logistics, engineering, quality, and customer service teams to support operational objectives.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, turnaround time, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in employee evaluations, disciplinary actions, attendance management, and hiring recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of aviation maintenance, repair, or overhaul experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in an aviation or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, aviation maintenance procedures, and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance documentation.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking systems.
• Work performed in an aviation shop or warehouse environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
• May require overtime, shift work, weekends, or on-call support based on operational needs.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred.
• Experience in MRO, component repair, engine services, or aerospace logistics operations.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
• Experience working within ERP or inventory management systems such as SAP or Acumatica.
