  • AACE Lab Support Technician - FT Posted On July 1 2026 Hours Full Time Description JOB SUMMARYAs part of this role you will assist in overseeing the labs student technicians who work with you to support operations. This includes but is not limited to coordinating student technician schedules assisting with the training of new student technicians and delegating tasks to student techs as needed. In addition to maintaining a safe and functional lab space you serve as a resource for students who have questions or need guidance while using the labs equipment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES•    Assist students with the operation of all equipment. This includes communicating procedures to ensure that all equipment is used in a safe and appropriate manner.•    Work closely with the AACE Lab Director to track students use of the lab and assistwith developing workflows that adapt to how students are using the space.•    Together with the Sr. AACE Lab Technician you will serve as a point-person for operation of the CNC router and coaching students on file preparation in RhinoCAM.•    Assist with developing reference & instructional guides for the labs equipment andoperational processes.•    Maintain a clean and safe lab environment through conducting regular maintenance cleaning and by identifying potential hazards.•    Monitor and organize the queue of student submissions.•    Assist with coordinating Student Technician schedules based on students availabilityand the Labs needs.•    Delegate tasks to student technicians as needed.•    Contribute to the labs ongoing collection of examples and exercises.•    Monitor material and consumable levels and usage and notify the lab director when materials are low or depleted.•    Demonstrate a positive and welcoming attitude when working with students and makedecisions that contribute towards making the AACE Lab accessible and equitable.SKILLSREQUIREMENTS•    Proficient using Rhino 3D within the context of Art Architecture and Engineering.•    Proficient with RhinoCAM and operation of CNC routers for a wide variety of job types and materials•    Proficient with the operation of Universal Laser Systems or similar CO2 laser cutters.•    Proficient with the operation of Fablight or similar metal laser cutters.•    Proficient with the operation of a variety of 3D printing systems including but not limited to Formlabs or similar SLA and Bambulab or similar FDM 3D printers.•    Proficient with the operation of Omax or similar waterjet cutters.•    Comfortable learning and using new software and tools on a regular basis.•    Comfortable operating supplemental equipment including air compressors dust collection systems and air filtration systems.•    Familiar with the safe and proper use of a wide range of handheld tools.•    Familiarity with appropriate PPE precautions related to noise dust fumes and handling of potentially hazardous materials such as Isopropyl Alcohol Resins and fine particulate.•    Experience with opening & closing a workshop or lab space including but not limited to maintaining a clean environment start-up and shutdown of equipment locking and unlocking the room etc.•    Knowledge of a variety of materials and their properties.•    Knowledge of electronics such as soldering & basic circuitry.•    Good verbal and written communication skills.EDUCATION•    Bachelors Degree andor significant professional experience in a field relevant to Art Architecture and or Engineering disciplines.RATE 30.00 - 33.00 per hour.
