ABA Therapy Childcare Assistant for Social Skills

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Childcare Assistant to support our Saturday Social Skills Program at our ABA therapy clinic in Springfield, VA. This position is ideal for someone interested in learning more about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a college student pursuing a career working with children, or a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) looking to pick up additional weekend hours.


As a Childcare Assistant, you will help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment while supporting children participating in social skills groups under the guidance of our clinical team.


Key Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising children during Saturday social skills groups.
• Support children during group activities, games, and structured play.
• Encourage positive social interactions and appropriate behavior.
• Assist with snack time, transitions, and basic hygiene needs as appropriate.
• Help prepare and clean up activity areas before and after groups.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors and team members.
• Follow all clinic policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications


Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working with young children.
• Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic.
• Ability to actively engage with children throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

Preferred:

• Experience working with children in a professional setting (daycare, preschool, nannying, camps, education, or ABA).
• Interest in psychology, education, speech therapy, occupational therapy, special education, or ABA.
• Current RBT certification or previous ABA experience (not required).
