Position:ABA Tutor Position Type: Full Time Hours:

  • School year: 35 hours/week (183 days during school year)
  • Summer: 25 hours per week (Mon- Thur 7:30-2:15/ 6 weeks) Location: District Wide Reports to: Building Principal Salary: $27.05 per hour This position qualifies for town benefits, including Health Insurance Position Summary: The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated individual to work as a 1:1 ABA tutor in the Partner Program in the district. The Partner Program is a classroom supported by both the Franklin Public Schools and the New England Center for Children (NECC). Using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the program is designed to help children diagnosed with Autism reach their full potential. The students receive highly specialized instruction to each child with inclusion opportunities provided and supported as appropriate. The ABA Tutor position is a year round position. This work is performed in the classroom under the direct supervision of a Master's level Head Teacher and BCBA supervisor. Training is provided and is on-going. Job Responsibilities of the ABA Tutor include:
  • Ensure the safety of all students
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of academic and behavioral programming for assigned student in collaboration with other members of the team
  • Recording and summarizing data
  • Facilitate opportunities for generalization and maintenance of skills
  • Collect data on targeted skills
  • Assist with writing progress reports
  • Relay parent concerns or information to the appropriate supervisor/ teacher
  • Carrying over therapies across the students day (OT, PT, Speech and Language)
  • Modifying general education curriculum/expectations to meet student's needs and skill level to insure successful inclusion experiences
  • Actively participate in ongoing training
  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Partner Classroom Teacher and specialists and supervisors as needed
  • Work closely with other team members
  • Provide parent training during school hours as needed
  • Maintain high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality

Qualifications include:

  • Experience in education, special education, or psychology preferred
  • Experience with children with Autism is preferred
  • Familiarity with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
  • Physical condition capable of managing behaviorally/ physically challenging students
  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
