Description
Role: ABAP Lead Developer Location: Newark, California Onsite (4 days/week mandatory) Employment Type: Contract Rate: DOE
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of ABAP objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows (RICEFW).
Architect and develop integrations between SAP and external systems such as Salesforce, Neptune, and other enterprise applications using REST, SOAP, and OData services.
Design and implement end-to-end integrations using SAP Gateway, Workato, and SAP BTP Integration Suite.
Develop secure and scalable integration solutions with proper authentication and authorization mechanisms.
Optimize ABAP programs, SQL queries, APIs, and overall system performance for scalability and efficiency.
Analyze technical bottlenecks and recommend architectural improvements and performance enhancements.
Work extensively with S/4HANA ABAP technologies including CDS Views and RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model).
Collaborate with SAP functional teams across OTC, PTP, VMS, Service, and Warranty modules to build effective technical solutions.
Ensure adherence to SAP development standards, reusable coding practices, and quality assurance processes.
Conduct code reviews and provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
Partner with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver integrated enterprise solutions.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Drive continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and best practices within the development team.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience with strong technical leadership capabilities.
Hands-on expertise in RICEFW development.
Strong experience with SAP integrations using REST, SOAP, OData, and APIs.
Experience with SAP Gateway, Workato, and SAP BTP Integration Suite.
Strong S/4HANA development experience including CDS Views and RAP model.
Solid understanding of performance tuning and optimization techniques in SAP.
Working knowledge of SAP functional areas including:
Order to Cash (OTC)
Procure to Pay (PTP)
Vehicle Management System (VMS)
Service & Warranty
Experience leading technical teams and conducting code reviews.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
