Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced ABB Robotic Engineer with strong hands-on experience in industrial robotics, automation, programming, integration, and troubleshooting. The role will support manufacturing operations, with a focus on ABB robotic systems used in engine assembly, test, paint, welding, and other automated manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Program, configure, and commission ABB industrial robots and robotic work cells.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving robots, controls, tooling, and automation systems.
Diagnose and correct production downtime related to robotic systems.
Develop, modify, and optimize ABB robot programs for new and existing manufacturing processes.
Integrate ABB robots with PLCs, vision systems, sensors, conveyors, and peripheral equipment.
Support robot validation, testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
Optimize robot programs based on previous incidents, production observations, and process requirements.
Work with PLC/Controls Engineers to identify issues and implement permanent solutions.
Optimize robot configurations, including harnesses, cabling, and end-of-arm tooling.
Support continuous improvement focused on cycle time, quality, safety, and OEE.
Perform root cause analysis and support corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
Develop standard work, training documentation, and operating procedures.
Collaborate with manufacturing, controls, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Provide strong shop-floor support and hands-on troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related engineering field.
5 15 years of relevant robotics, automation, and manufacturing experience.
Strong hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting ABB industrial robots.
Experience with ABB RobotStudio and ABB robot controllers.
Experience with robotic welding, material handling, assembly, machine tending, or automated manufacturing applications.
Experience integrating robots with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent PLCs.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.
Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve robotics issues on the manufacturing floor.
Willingness and ability to work onsite on 3rd shift.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with vision-guided robotics and automated inspection systems.
Experience commissioning new automation equipment and production lines.
Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols.
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement experience.
Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
