PURPOSE:
The Body Shop Parts Production assistant verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments. Inventory, store, and disperse parts and/or materials as needed by the technicians. Communicate with Production Manager and related staff regarding tasks necessary to aid with shop productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Count, weigh, or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons, or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications.
- Inspect, inventory, or disperse incoming shipments of parts/materials.
- Gather parts from inventory for technicians.
- Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process.
- Assist Detail Department in times of need.
- Run vehicles/parts to outside vendors.
- Occasional customer or coworker transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Experience in an automotive repair field preferred.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
