Description:
The College of Architecture and Design is looking for an Academic Advisor (level 1 or level 2). Please see the job description for both levels.
AA1: Provides basic academic advising support to prospective and enrolled undergraduate students under supervision. Focuses on routine advising, program requirements, and student support services.
Advises enrolled and prospective students regarding academic programs and curriculum.
Delivers general academic advising on degree requirements, course selection, and academic policies and procedures.
Assists students with registration and schedule planning.
Refers students to campus resources (tutoring, counseling, financial aid).
Maintains accurate student records in advising systems.
Supports orientation and onboarding programs.
Responds to routine student inquiries via email and appointments.
May assist in recruiting high school and community college students and may make presentations at special events.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. No experience required.
AA2: Provides comprehensive advising to a diverse student population with moderate independence. Handles more complex cases and supports student success initiatives.
Advises students on academic planning and degree completion strategies, as well as academic progress concerns (probation, retention).
Analyzes degree audits and recommends solutions.
Identifies at-risk students and develops intervention plans.
Participates in recruitment, advising workshops, and outreach.
Collaborates with faculty and departments on student issues.
Maintains caseload of students and tracks outcomes.
Processes Veteran''s Administration paperwork, writes graduation verification letters, and provides financial aid appeals.
May assist in recruiting high school and community college students and may make presentations at special events.
Performs other job-related duties as required.

Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Education will be considered in lieu of experience.
