Job Title: Academic Advisor for Entry Level (UG) Nursing
Department: Keigwin School of Nursing
Position Reports to (Position Title): Interim Associate Dean KSON
Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt
Job Summary
The Academic Advisor for the Entry Level Programs in the Keigwin School of Nursing works in a team-based environment to assist in admissions, enrollment, and advising for students in the campus-based undergraduate nursing programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Complete task assigned by the Assistant Director of Entry Level Enrollment in the admissions processes for programs in the Keigwin School of Nursing undergraduate programs.
- Evaluate applicants for admission to the Keigwin School of Nursing entry level programs.
- Assist in orientation activities for each entering cohort.
- Assist the Assistant Director of Entry Level Enrollment to counsel students regarding eligibility, course schedule recommendations, and progression in undergraduate nursing programs.
- Advise entry level nursing students for registration, program progression, and fulfillment of degree requirements
- Tracks retention and collects metrics for Entry Level (undergraduate) ABSN nursing programs and collaborates with administration to implement effective retention strategies
- Counsels alongside with Academic Advising for pre-nursing students interested in the major and preparing needed requirements.
- Serve as a liaison to faculty for Entry level nursing programs.
- Assist in the collection of metrics regarding undergraduate nursing students' race, ethnicity, gender, employment as necessary for accreditation and university reporting.
- Other duties as deemed necessary by the Assistant Director of Entry Level Enrollment.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience: Minimum Education Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum Work Experience: will train
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a University environment
- Knowledge of the nursing profession and educational requirements
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
- Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
- Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone
