The School-Specific Academic Advisor provides holistic, student-centered academic advising and support that advances student success from onboarding through program progression, persistence, and completion. Serving as a dedicated advising partner to an assigned academic school, this position helps students clarify goals, navigate academic pathways, connect to appropriate college resources, and make informed decisions related to academic planning, transfer, and career direction.
This role plays a critical part in advancing the college's "Flight Path for Student Success" model by delivering proactive, relationship-based advising that promotes early momentum, informed progression, and timely intervention for students in need of additional support. The School-Specific Academic Advisor serves as a liaison between Academic Advising and Transfer Services and the assigned academic school, helping to strengthen communication, alignment, and shared responsibility between Student Affairs and Academic Affairs in support of student success.
In an evolving advising structure, this position contributes to the implementation of integrated, high-quality advising practices through effective collaboration, documentation, outreach, and cross-functional coordination.
