Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience working in an academic advising, counseling, or student services setting (student experience may be considered).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Understanding of NCAA Compliance Rules (played a Division I, II, or III sport, coached in collegiate athletics, or as a staff member in a collegiate athletic program). Previous experience with a Division I Athletic Program. Experience in higher education. Previous experience working with at-risk students.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Academic Advisor I is an entry level position that will support the functions of the Academic Success area within Student-Athlete Development in the Department of Athletics under the direct supervision of a higher-level staff member. Incumbent will provide support to student-athletes with respect to academic planning and academic advising by assisting students with the interpretation of established academic rules and regulations, including prerequisites, general education requirements, and NCAA and University requirements. The Academic Advisor I will execute all duties in compliance with NCAA policies and procedures following institutional guidelines.

Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
In addition to the employee''s base salary, this position is eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
For this position, we are unable to sponsor candidates for work visas.
Evening and weekend work will be required at times.
