Academic Advisor Position Overview
Academic Advisors focus on the whole student in an innovative holistic advising model. Advisors effectively build relationships with students and motivate them to reach their goals. The holistic model includes an integration of vocational academic financial and social exploration and goal setting and leads the advising team on a path to meet the persistence and matriculation goals of the university. The Academic Advisor works with undergraduate PSEO and graduate students.
Essential Duties
Analyze students SRP data to counsel them on their academic goals social involvement and financial preparedness.
Manage student success strategies based on SRP data and other variables to decide students needs and meet retention goals.
Analyzing data to connect students with resources needed to ensure persistence and matriculation goals
Counsel and instruct small and large groups of students from diverse backgrounds both in-person and virtually on degree requirements effectiveness on and off campus involvement in goal setting success strategies and academic operations of the University.
Build relationships with students to successfully manage the territory of advisees to meet weekly contact and retention goals.
Closely monitor students to proactively identify at-risk scenarios and identify opportunities to develop implement measure and improve academic success strategies
Administer the Student Policies of the University to ensure students are academically successful meeting SAP and have the opportunity to earn their degree
Implement Student Enrollment Plans based on SRP data students goals and requirements for majors andminors.
Review transcripts provide assessments and inform students for the success of transfer credits
Calibrate with university staff to ensure that students inquiries are strategically coordinated and addressed in a timely manner while supporting academic integrity and University policies
Identify students who are at risk of not meeting SAP to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for success and to meet SAP.
Communicate with students about their academic progress and make changes to their enrollment based on academic operations.

Education & Experience
Bachelors Degree Required
Masters Degree Preferred
2 years Academic AdvisingStudent Services experience
1 years Experience working within a customer relationship managagment CRM platform
