Job Summary:
The College of Arts & Sciences seeks an Academic Assistant to support the department of Psychology, Neuroscience and Animal Behavior. This position provides high-level administrative support to the departments. The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask, facilitiating a variety of activities with competing deadlines. This role is ideal for a person with strong organizational and communication skills who can bring initiative, professionalism, adaptability, and an ability to translate ideas into action. Candidates should be able to organize and maintain administrative processes following the academic calendar and have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The academic assistant manages the daily operational activities (including financial, academic, communications, event planning, staffing, etc.) and provides primary administrative support.
Reporting to the Psychology Department co-chairs, this is a full-time (12-month). non-exempt (hourly), benefits-eligible staff position scheduled to work 35 hours per week.

What You Will Bring:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Three years of administrative/office experience
Demonstrated knowledge of computers and software such as Google drive word processing, spreadsheet, email and calendaring applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to prioritize deadlines and successfully manage multiple priorities
Ability to handle sensitive confidential information in a responsible and appropriate manner
Proactive approach to projects, problem solving, communication needs, and planning
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to positively interact with a wide range of individuals and a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, Workday
Interest in learning or proficiency with managing social media accounts (FB, LinkedIn, Instagram)

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
