The Department of Emergency Medicine at our organization, a prominent teaching hospital affiliated with a leading medical school, is on the lookout for an academic Emergency Medicine attending physician to enhance our exceptional faculty in Boston, MA. Faculty positions at the medical school are available at the instructor, assistant, or associate professor levels, depending on qualifications and experience.

Role Overview

We are in search of a passionate and driven academic Emergency Medicine physician to promote clinical excellence, engage in scholarly research, and contribute to medical education within a prestigious academic medical center. This role presents a remarkable opportunity for those who are enthusiastic about teaching, research, innovation, and delivering high-quality patient care in a supportive and collaborative setting. As a member of our dynamic team, you will play a key role in developing or enhancing a specialized area of research expertise. Our organization offers a rich research environment with strong infrastructure, including a dedicated clinical research team, support services (such as IRB writing, statistical analysis, and database management), and mentorship from multiple NIH RO1 funded investigators within the department to help foster a successful research career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate clinical care in a fast-paced, urban academic emergency department.
  • Engage in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in academic activities such as research, quality improvement, education, informatics, administration, or other scholarly endeavors aligned with your interests.
  • Collaborate with a diverse, multidisciplinary team of emergency medicine professionals dedicated to advancing the field and enhancing patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the department’s academic and strategic objectives through clinical service, scholarly engagement, and leadership opportunities.
Qualifications
  • MD or an equivalent medical degree.
  • Board certification (or eligibility) in Emergency Medicine.
  • A demonstrated commitment to academic emergency medicine, with interests in areas such as medical education, clinical innovation, health equity, operations, research, or quality and safety.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Massachusetts.
