About the Job

Medstar Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a highly skilled, academic-oriented Advanced Cardiac Imaging Specialist to join our faculty.

This position will be primarily based at MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC), a premier, high-volume tertiary care academic medical center recognized nationally for cardiovascular excellence.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team dedicated to cutting-edge clinical care, fellowship education, and clinical research. This role offers a robust balance of specialized multi-modality cardiac imaging, outpatient clinical time, and inpatient attending responsibilities with a focus on advanced cardiac imaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Imaging Services: Interpret and oversee multi-modality cardiac imaging, including Echocardiography (TTE/TEE), Cardiac Computed Tomography (CCT), and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMR).
  • Clinical Care: Provide comprehensive cardiovascular care across both ambulatory clinic settings and inpatient cardiology teaching services.
  • Education & Faculty Duties: Provide dedicated teaching, mentorship, and clinical supervision to cardiovascular disease fellows, advanced imaging fellows, and Georgetown University medical students. Academic appointment at the Georgetown University School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience.
  • Research & Innovation: Participate in and contribute to the department's robust clinical research portfolio, registry enrollments, and academic publications.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
  • Certification: Board Eligible or Board Certified (BE/BC) in Cardiovascular Disease.
  • Specialized Training: Formal fellowship training in Advanced Cardiac Imaging with verified proficiency/level II or III training in:
  • Echocardiography
  • Cardiac Computed Tomography (CCT)
  • Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR)
