ECU Health Physicians and ECU Health Medical Center, located in Greenville, North Carolina, are seeking a Clinical Pathologist to join their established program. Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in clinical pathology or combined anatomic pathology and clinical pathology. 

New graduate and 2027 visa applicants are encouraged to apply.

  • Established pathology program inclusive of 7 clinical pathologists, 11 surgical pathologists and an AP/CP residency, centralized in one tertiary care medical center laboratory
  • Applicants with Microbiology, Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine, HLA and Clinical Chemistry expertise are highly desired
  • Medical directorship opportunity depending on experience and expertise
  • Clinical responsibilities will include:
    • Clinical consultation with laboratory personnel as well as clinical staff over laboratory medicine and regulatory compliance on daily basis
    • Participation in departmental quality improvement activities and training pathology residents will be an expectation.
    • Overnight coverage of the blood bank/transfusion service for approximately one week/weekend a month is expected.
    • Ability to sign-out routine chemistry cases is also desirable (2-5 days a month)
    • Participate in the after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call consultation for clinical laboratory services
  • For applicants with anatomical pathology board certification, potential leadership opportunities are available in a growing surgical pathology division accessioning 26,000 cases annually
