The Academic Coach is similar to an individual who serves in the capacity of an instructional coach. This individual collaboratively engages with various stakeholder groups including district- and campus-level leaders, teachers, families, and community members to support teacher success to impact student learning. The Academic Coach plays a pivotal role in developing a culture of continuous improvement on the campus.

The primary role for an Academic Coach is to provide differentiated, sustained, job-embedded coaching and mentoring support for teachers through the professional learning communities and classroom modeling.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises staff in those areas deemed appropriate by the principal.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written), instruct and model desirable skills and attitudes, remain productive and maintain control under stress, supervise others in a non-coercive manner, maintain a clear focus on customer service
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand and move throughout the room and/or facility. Duties also include moderate standing, stooping, bending, lifting/transport of up to 50 lbs and the ability to work with frequent interruptions. Frequent district wide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
